About Fat Be Gone

Fat Be Gone is the go to space when you are frustrated by the battle to lose that 10, 20 or 30 plus kilos.

Fat Be Gone is the go to space when you are sick of people who have never been fat telling you how to lose weight.

Fat Be Gone isn’t about being perfect. It’s about creating a healthy lifestyle that works for you.

I got so sick of being told how to do it by people who had no idea what it’s like to be sick of being fat. In December 2012 I launched Fat Be Gone as way to keep accountable as I turned my unhealthy, obese life into a sustainable healthy journey.

As happens when you least expect it Fat Be Gone became so much more. I’m so proud that this blog has grown into a passion whereby I am able to help others turn their lives around. My life is all about Fat Be Gone.

A little about the woman behind Fat Be Gone

My name is CaAtherine Meredith (yes, with two a’s) and at the end of 2002 I relocated from Perth to Melbourne, Victoria in 2002.

When I’m not behind a computer screen or supporting a client you will find me experimenting with healthy recipes in the kitchen, at the gym, or networking with other entrepreneurs sharing the Fat Be Gone love.

I cannot tell you how excited I get waking up each day knowing that I get to do what I love: help others create their very own sustainable healthy lifestyle.  If you had told me three years ago that I'd quit my job to help others get healthy I more than likely would have said that you're mad.

Some of the other things I love are my Bengals, my God-children, John Mellencamp, Star Wars,  my FITBIT, and listening to it rain while curled up in bed.

Prior to changing my lifestyle I had tried every diet and eating program over the years.

Everything from:

  • shakes
  • no carbs
  • low carbs
  • fasting
  • group sessions
  • soup diets
  • high protein, low fat
  • high fat, no carbs
  • diets that targeted the tummy, thighs, or butt
  • acupuncture - yes, acupuncture!

I gave it all a go, only to put back on the weight - plus a little extra.

In the past, when life threw challenges my way I turned to the one comfort I thought I could rely on: FOOD. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when FOOD let me down and took me down the path to obesity.

Here are my stats when I started Fat Be Gone back in December 2012;

  • Height   172 cms
  • BMI  54.4   (Body Mass Index)
  • Weight  160.9 kilos
  • Chest   144cm
  • Waist  138cm
  • Hips  160cm

I was unhappy and morbidly obese, and I knew that if I kept heading down the same path I was facing an early grave. I needed to not only take action, but stand-up and take ownership.

Losing weight is always a challenge, regardless of how much you need to lose.

There was a secret that I have been hiding that I only revealed this month.  In October 2012 I went and weighed in with my Doctor and discovered I weighed 169.9 kilos!  By the time Fat Be Gone was launched I had lost 8 kilos and was on my way.

Passionate about helping others

Earlier in 2015 I was able to quit my job and totally focus on my passion of helping others create their very own sustainable healthy lifestyle.

Actually 2015 has been a big year for me. I travelled to Africa and spent time volunteering in a small Zambian school that is run by Our Rainbow House; I saw rhinos in Botswana; fulfilled a dream of experiencing Victoria Falls in Zambia; and safaried in South Luangwa National Park.

I offer lifestyle coaching to those who want to turn their lives around and see the fat be gone. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be able to do what I love each day.

Shedding the ‘fat’ isn’t just about those clumps of ugly brown and yellow fat. It’s so much more; it’s about the whole package - it is about the body, mind, and spirit. Supporting clients as they experience this journey of discovery and growth is amazing.
